The Kostic family lives
in the territory of the city of Jagodina. The family has 6 members, 4 of
whom are children aged 1 to 4 years. The family’s income is mostly from
social assistance, the husband works as a wage earner and collects
secondary raw materials. The family lives in a one-story house that they
rent. The Kostic family received financial aid from UNICEF.

The
joint UN program Strengthening social protection in Serbia through the
introduction of elements for responding to crisis/crisis situations
focuses on strengthening the social protection system in order to
mitigate the socio-economic impacts of successive crises that have hit
the country. UNICEF supported around 142 households with children from
all over the country with financial aid. These households met specific
targeting criteria according to which they were particularly exposed to

Portrait of Persa
Djordjevic-she was born in 1941 in Zajecar. She lives alone in difficult
conditions in a dilapidated house in Sljivar, in the village next to
Zajecar. Her husband died in 2013.
